- Organize team dinners before big meets
- Lead team cheering at meets
- Help team to provide end-of-the-year fun, positive awards to all team mates
- Add locker notes on meet days and/or birthdays
- Lead the team cheer before every meet along with other pep talks
- Lead team in daily stretching and dynamics, making sure the team does them effectively, efficiently, and together
- Gather entire team at meets for warm up and cool down at meets
- Be a model when it comes to warming up and cooling down
- Be on time every day with all necessary equipment
- Help coaches focus the team during team meetings
- Attend ALL team events
- Bring disciplined work habits to practice daily
- Organize ice/water duties during season
- Maintain a summer journal with mileage chart information
- Maintain a fall running journal online(running2win.com). Encourage teammates to do so.
- Be knowledgeable about the sport, training, and equipment
- Know everyone's name on the team by the end of the 1st week of practice
- Show interest in all runners' progress
- Be approachable
- Cheer on team at workouts and races and encourage others to do so
- Be a conduit between the coach and team concerning team issues
- Help articulate team goals for the team
- Always support the coach
- Pick a time and location at least 3x per week.
- Make sure at least one team member is there for every run
- Phone/email/facebook team members and encourage them to run and attend
